Update iPhone 15 before transferring data from another iPhone
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo published some launch day analysis of the iPhone 15 based on supply chain sources.
As the new iPhones reach customers around the world, Kuo shared some insights into how each model is performing and how Apple’s fall quarter is performing.
First, Kuo writes that he expects Apple to achieve year-over-year growth for the fourth quarter, thanks to revenue from better-than-expected iPhones and profits from selling more expensive models and shipping with higher capacity than a year earlier. does.
“I still maintain my estimate of iPhone 15 shipments in the second half of 2023 at 80 million units, while iPhone 14 shipments in the second half of 2022 were 76 million due to the closure of the Hon Hai Zhengzhou factory in November last year,” says Kuo.
The analyst adds that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be Apple’s main growth driver during the fourth quarter. He expects 35 million units to be shipped compared to 28 million for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
According to Kuo, the iPhone 15 Plus will also record excellent sales. The analyst believes that Apple initially ordered fewer models than needed based on early sales results.
A year ago, the iPhone 14 Plus shipped a few weeks after the rest of the lineup. Meanwhile, according to supply chain reports, it was the iPhone 14 Pro line that sold in larger volumes than Apple expected.
Finally, Kuo commented on the performance of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models: “The iPhone 15 and 15 Pro are not up to expectations and there is a likelihood of cuts in orders for these two models if Apple does not lower the prices”.
Obviously, since it is impossible for Apple to lower prices, it is likely that these two models will sell less than expected, to the advantage of the iPhone 15 Plus and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
However, Apple selling more expensive models of both lines is a good problem to have.
