USB-C on iPad 10th generation is as slow as Lightning

USB-C on the 10th Gen iPad is just as slow as Lightning. Everyone rejoiced at the appearance of a USB-C connector in the 10th generation iPad for charging and connecting accessories, but, as it turned out, it is not surprising with increased speed.

How to enable Live Activities on iPhone?

Apple decided to save money and installed USB-C 2.0, the speed of which is limited to 480 Mbps. Same speed on the 9th generation iPad and other devices with a Lightning connector.

For comparison, the speeds of other iPads:

  • iPad Pro M1/M2 – up to 40 Gbps;
  • iPad Air 5th generation – up to 10 Gbps;
  • iPad mini 6th generation – up to 5Gbps.

This information is not available on the Apple website. Therefore, if you wanted to use the iPad for fast data transfer, then you should choose another model.
