When you connect the adapter in question to an iPad or iPhone, it should automatically open the Photos app, allowing the user to choose the photos and videos to import, and then organize them into albums. The adapter also allows you to connect other USB peripherals to iPad Pro such as hubs, Ethernet adapters, audio and MIDI interfaces, CompactFlash, SD, microSD card readers and much more.

After upgrading to iOS 16.5 and iPadOS 16.5, several users complain that they are no longer able to power any device connected to the two ports.
The malfunction is probably due to a bug in the operating system updates, a problem that Apple should fix with a future update.
Apple has released beta 1 of future updates to iOS 16.6 and iPadOS 16.6 to developers, but the final version of these operating systems will still take several weeks and it is therefore likely that Apple will release a minor update to iOS 16.5.1 and iPad 16.5.1 to fix this bug and other minor bugs found since the last update.
