Second beta of iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, watchOS 9.3 and tvOS 16.3. Apple has released beta 2 updates to future versions of iOS 16.3, iPadOS 16.3, watchOS 9.3, and tvOS 16.3 to developers. The beta 2 of future updates arrives 28 days after the release of the final versions of iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, tvOS 16.2 and watchOS 9.2.
Apple TV users don’t like the new interface
iOS 16.3 and iPadOS 16.3 beta 2 carries build number 20D5035i and replaces build 20D5024e. The second beta of watchOS 9.3 carries build number 20S5637h and replaces build 20S5626e; tvOS 16.3 and HomePod Software version 16.3 build is 20K5637g, replacing build 20K5626c.
Among the novelties of the latest builds, support for physical keys such as Yubikey for logging into various websites, keys that can be connected via USB, Lightning or NFC technology medianet. The feature in question is useful for replacing two-factor authentication, using a single security token mounted on a key; by accessing certain websites (e.g. Gmail) the site will ask you to enter your password and to insert the key into the iPhone/iPad port to complete access (if the password has been compromised, it will be of little use because you will always need to however, also insert keys such as Yubikey and the like to access the site).
As always, registered developers can download the iOS 16 beta profile from the Apple Developer Center and, after installing the profile, install the update with the usual over-the-air mechanism.
