New Intel iMac expected this week

New Intel iMac expected this week. It was expected at WWDC 2020 in June but has not been seen: now according to two advances and several clues Apple will soon launch a new Intel iMac, a press release launch that could already take place this week.

Although coming from the most disparate sources, all the clues in circulation match each other, including details regarding design and specifications. Since June, in fact, scarce stocks of the iMacs currently in the list have been detected, while in the product codes registered by Apple the possible new iPhones 12 have been identified but also codes reserved for new Intel iMac 2020. Finally, in the very first days of July in the Geekbench database to measure the performance of computers and devices, an iMac with a 10th generation Intel Come Lake-S was sighted, with 10 computing cores and Radeon Pro 5300 graphics processor.

Just a few days ago a trusted leaker published a Twitter post stating that “Some products are ready to ship.” Neither the manufacturer nor the products are specified, but for several months now the person who signs himself L0vetodream has correctly anticipated several launches, dates and details of the news of Cupertino. To all these indications are added two advances, reported by 9to5Mac, which appeared in the last few hours on the net: the first claims that Apple will soon present new Intel iMacs, perhaps already this week, instead the second that these machines will not have a new design.

The current design with reduced profile and thickness at the edges dates back to 2012: a change of look is long overdue and has already been spotted, stylized, in an icon inside iOS 14 beta. For this reason some were waiting for him at WWDC 2020 but the most likely plan seems another. The first one coming soon with Intel processor and hardware refresh will in all probability be identical to the previous ones, while Apple will reserve the change of look and design for its first iMac ARM with Apple Silicon processor, one of the two machines expected by the end of the question, along with a laptop.

However with or without a new design, the new Intel iMac seems to retire the Fusion Drive storage units, to adopt only SSDs, in addition to the implementation of the Apple T2 security, management and handyman chip.
