Mirror iPhone Screen on Macs with M1, M2, and M3 Chips Easily Using iOS 15’s AirPlay Feature. Screen mirroring from an iPhone to a Mac has become a seamless process with the integration of iOS 15 and subsequent versions, alongside macOS 12 Monterey or newer. This feature, reminiscent of what users enjoy with Apple TV, is now possible thanks to AirPlay, allowing audio and video to be easily projected onto a Mac screen. This functionality is compatible with Macs equipped with M1, M2, and even the latest M3 processors.

To start mirroring your iPhone screen on your Mac, ensure you have iOS 15 or later on your iPhone and macOS 12 Monterey or higher on your Mac. Here’s a simple guide:

  1. Access the Control Center on your iPhone by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen.
  2. Tap on the screen mirroring icon, which looks like two overlapping rectangles.
  3. If your Mac is listed, select it to start mirroring your iPhone screen.
  4. Once connected, whatever actions you perform on your iPhone will be displayed on your Mac’s screen, allowing you to view apps normally used on your phone on a larger display.

To discontinue screen mirroring, simply press the Escape key on your Mac. You can also stop the mirroring by revisiting the Control Center on your iPhone, swiping up from the bottom of the screen, or selecting the “Stop Mirroring” option.

Remember, for this feature to work, both the iPhone and Mac need to be connected to the same WiFi network.

For those who wish to mirror specific app content, such as a YouTube video, the process is just as straightforward. Within the app, select the video you want to share, tap the AirPlay icon (a square with WiFi waves), choose “AirPlay & Bluetooth device,” then select your Mac as the destination and press Play.

This screen mirroring capability is exclusive to Macs with M1 processors or newer, providing users with a flexible and convenient way to display their iPhone content on a larger Mac screen.
