iPhone 14, Apple Stores now repair every model

iPhone 14, Apple Stores now repair every model. Instead of having to replace the entire device, Apple Stores and authorized repair centers are now able to repair individual components for each of the new iPhone 14 base, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max models.

Apple launches satellite SOS emergencies in US, other countries in December

From the internal note that ended up in the hands of MacRumors, it turns out that this change came into force last week, so whoever goes to an Apple Store or an authorized third-party reseller from now on will be able to have the new iPhone 14 repaired directly in site because spare parts will be available for this kind of operation.

Because Apple can only repair iPhone 14s now

Generally, in fact, for newly launched Apple devices, components such as the screen, battery, speakers and the like take a few weeks if not months to arrive in the repair laboratories. Therefore, customers who arrive with a faulty or defective product during this phase, unable to repair it due to lack of materials, have the entire device replaced.

The lucky ones

In the case of iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus this should happen even more quickly as they have an easily removable glass back panel, something that hasn’t happened for more than ten years (the latest in order of time is iPhone 4S introduced in 2011) . Unfortunately, this change is not reflected in the other two phones in the range, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, which instead can only be opened from the front and therefore some interventions require more time.

Prices

From the €75 needed for the iPhone 13, now €119 is needed for new phones regardless of model. For customers who have activated the AppleCare + extended warranty, the service is free as long as the battery maintains less than 80% of its original capacity.

Rates have also increased for other components: for example, for the replacement of the screen of the iPhone 14 Pro Max you have to shell out €489 while for its younger brother, the iPhone 13 Pro Max, you need €409. For both products, however, customers with AppleCare+ are only required to pay €29.
