iPhone 14, Apple has evaluated to remove the SIM Card slot. Apple wants to accelerate the adoption of digital eSIMs, integrated on chips in the phone, for this reason it has evaluated to remove the slot for traditional SIM Card phone cards in some models of iPhone, this starting from the iPhone 14 generation that will be presented on September 7, or starting from next year’s iPhone 15 generation.

While we have been hearing anticipation of removing the physical SIM card slot on the iPhone for several years now, this has not happened so far. But this time the prediction is much more reliable because it comes from Mark Gurman, the American journalist who boasts the best first-hand information from the Cupertino Campus.
Digital eSIMs have been around for years, but they are not yet supported in every country: now telephony operators seem ready to support them more extensively, even with campaigns to inform users. For this reason, according to Gurman, Apple will give a greater push to the transition to eSIM in the iPhone, with the elimination of the slot for physical SIM cards, but gradually and starting only with some models.
Through eSIM, users no longer need a nano SIM Card phone card. They can choose operator and phone plan – data directly from a menu with iPhone connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi during configuration. Alternatively, some operators also provide a QR code that you just need to frame with the iPhone camera to make the subscription and configuration of eSIM and telephone plan even more automatic and simple.
Recall that Apple is among the first manufacturers to have contributed to the spread of eSIMs, starting with Apple Watch Series 3, then also on iPad Pro and iPhones starting from 2018.
