iOS 17.4 Hints at Upcoming Apple Pencil 3 and New iPad Pro Features. In addition to iPad there is a new Apple Pencil in iOS 17.4. iOS 17.4 seems to be a mine of clues for the next Apple hardware not yet revealed. We have already mentioned the signs of an iPad Pro with Face ID sensor in landscape mode, but now the operating system drops another taboo: an Apple Pencil 3 with support for the “Where is” function is on the way.
Apple Introduces SharePlay Music Control to HomePod and Apple TV with iOS 17.4 Update
Apple released iOS 17.4 beta 1 last Thursday for early developer testing. It should contain the changes required by EU regulation, but also includes some suggestions for future products.
We have already mentioned clues about the new iPad Pro models with OLED displays that will arrive in 2024, but news of a new smart pen from Apple has arrived in these hours.
This is probably the Apple Pencil 3 which could benefit from support for a new function, consistent with other products, such as the AirPods, i.e. the Find My function. Rumors suggest that a new Apple Pencil and new accessories are expected to launch alongside the new iPad lineup in 2024.
Apple hasn’t released any hardware versions of the iPad in 2023, so the entire lineup is certainly ripe for updates, as is the new Apple Pencil 3. Obviously, there’s no official launch window yet, but it’s possible that some new product may be announced as early as March.
We remember that it has been said for some time that Apple will most likely present a new iPad with MagSafe technology on Pad Pro, OLED display and storage units even larger than the current ones and with very significant prices. The launch should take place in spring and the hints contained in iOS 17.4 therefore seem to confirm it.
