Insiders: iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will not receive one of the expected major updates. This is due to technical problems in mass production. Ming-Chi Kuo said that the upcoming firmware will not receive touch-sensitive power and volume buttons. According to him, this is due to “unresolved technical problems before mass production.” The action buttons don’t seem to be worth the wait either.
PC sales plummet, Apple fares worst of all
Thus, in this generation of iPhones, we will not see touch buttons, the tactile feedback of which is carried out by two additional Taptic Engine vibration motors. However, it is not yet clear whether there will be a combined volume rocker or whether Apple will divide the hole into two familiar ones from past models.
Mr. Kuo’s words were confirmed by technical analysts Jeff Pu and Shelly Chou from the Hong Kong investment company Haitong International Securities.
According to Ming-Chi, the production of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, if delayed, is not too much – now the production of these iPhones is at the EVT stage, that is, technical verification tests are being carried out. It’s pretty easy to make changes here.
The presentation of the iPhone 15 line will take place, as we expect, in September.
