Apple’s Wave of Innovations: iPad mini 7 Coming Early. The iPad mini 7 might make its debut earlier than anticipated. This forthcoming model is expected to launch either by the close of 2023 or within the early months of 2024.

It’s been a minute since Apple unveiled a new iPad, with the last models, the iPad Pro M2 and iPad 10, making their appearance in October the previous year. Although some insiders point towards a 2024 launch for fresh models, whispers are growing louder about the iPad mini 7 and a new iPad Air launching in the coming months.
Speculations suggest Apple’s plans are in full swing to roll out the iPad mini 7 shortly. However, a fixed timeline remains elusive. Predictions are that the upcoming iPad mini will mirror the design aesthetics of its predecessor but will pack a punch with an upgraded chip. For context, the iPad mini 6 that came out in September 2021 is driven by the A15 Bionic chip, identical to the iPhone 13.
Apple seems to be experimenting with a revamped version of its basic iPad, internally labeled as J126b. The prior iteration, the 10th generation iPad, came with a design reminiscent of the iPad Air and featured a USB-C port and an A14 Bionic chip. This new entry-level iPad might witness improvements mainly in the processor department.
The grapevine is abuzz with Apple’s potential enhancements for the iPad Air. Sources hint at Apple playing around with two distinct iPad Air models. This aligns with what Bloomberg highlighted earlier in June. Apple also has its hands full with other iPad projects coded as J537 and J538, rooted in the iPad Air. To draw a parallel, the iPad Pro, at present, boasts multiple versions, showcasing 11- and 12.9-inch models.
Though information remains scanty, the buzz in the tech corridors is that Apple might be mulling over launching a more sizable or a premium spec-filled iteration of the iPad Air. Nonetheless, Apple’s strategies can pivot, and this secondary version might never hit the shelves.
It’s no shocker that Apple is gearing up for the next-gen iPad Pro powered by an M3 chip. These models carry the monikers J717 and J718 for the 11-inch variety and J720 and J721 for their bigger counterparts.
In another development, Apple is fine-tuning a refreshed Magic Keyboard for the iPad, aiming to provide a laptop-esque experience. This revamped structure is expected to be crafted from aluminum, replacing plastic, and will feature a more spacious trackpad.
The upcoming Magic Keyboard for the iPad, tagged as R219 (the predecessor being labeled R1x), is said to come loaded with innovative sensors, like an accelerometer. Rumor has it that this will be showcased alongside the new iPad Pro in 2024.
Barring the iPad mini 7, which might see a 2023 end release, the rest of the lineup is projected for a spring 2024 release, certainly before the WWDC 2024 in June.
