Apple’s Upcoming iMacs: 24-inch Model in 2024 and a Potential 32-inch ‘iMac Pro’ in 2025 with Mini-LED Technology. Apple is gearing up to unveil a new 24-inch iMac in 2024, as highlighted by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. This announcement aligns with previous predictions made by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.
Apple Watch Showdown: Series 9 vs. SE 2022
Kuo hasn’t specified which chips Apple plans to deploy, but Gurman suggests that the upcoming all-in-one devices will feature M3 chips. These chips are anticipated to be based on 3nm technology, boasting a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, and notable enhancements in energy efficiency.
The present 24-inch iMac, introduced in 2021, is powered by the M1 chip, available in configurations with an 8-core CPU and 7-core GPU or an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU. Both options come with various SSD storage capacities.
In another revelation from Kuo, there’s buzz around a potential 32-inch iMac expected to debut in 2025. According to the analyst, this forthcoming model might be positioned as an “iMac Pro”, reminiscent of the all-in-one model from 2017 that ceased production two years ago.
Speculations about a larger display iMac aren’t new. Previous rumors hinted at the production of such a model, but these were later debunked. Instead, monitors like the 27-inch Studio Display with a Retina 5K screen made their appearance.
Currently, Apple doesn’t offer a 27-inch iMac in its lineup. Those seeking the prowess of a 27-inch iMac Pro are left with the option of pairing a Mac Studio with a 27-inch Studio Display or opting for a monitor from another brand.
If the 32-inch iMac does see the light of day in the future, Apple might leverage mini-LED technology for its display. However, the price point remains a topic of speculation. As of now, Apple’s base model of the Pro Display XDR, featuring a 6K resolution (6016×3384 pixels), carries a price tag of 5599 euros.
