Apple will launch monitors with Bionic chip by March. Even before December 2022, Apple’s work on new displays and monitors for Mac and iPad was already known: after a postponement for internal reasons and also for component supply problems, analysts now agree that the next high-end Apple display will with proprietary chip it could arrive early in 2023, probably already within the month of March.
iPhone sales let down Apple, the quarter is down
The expected launch window could be the same as the first Mac Pros with Apple Silicon processors, the last ones missing to completely abandon Intel. This is also because it will be a high-end professional display, both in terms of specifications and functions.
Based on the clues provided by Mark Gurmna and also by display expert Ross Young, the new 2023 Apple monitor is expected to be a cross between the 27-inch Apple Studio Display at 1,799 euros and the top of the range Apple Pro Display XDR from 32” to 5,599 euros, also for the design, as reported by MacRumors. It seems to be a 27-inch panel with mini LED technology and also with a variable refresh rate up to 120Hz.
We remind you that the 27” Apple Studio Display is the first ever from Cupertino driven by the Apple A13 Bionic chip and with an ad hoc lightened version of iOS. This allows Apple to manage various functions, including smart ones, directly within the monitor, lightening the workload for tablets or computers, such as Center Stage, but also to improve integrated functions through software updates and more.
Keeping in mind that improvements in performance and energy efficiency matter relatively in a monitor, Apple could use the same Apple A13 chip for the next upcoming model as well. Recall that Apple is also investing in micro LED technology which should debut in Apple Watch in 2024 or 2025.
