Apple Vision Pro labs are underbooked. In July, Apple announced the opening of laboratories in Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo, locations where developers can already test their apps on Apple Vision Pro and receive assistance from the engineers of the Cupertino company.

According to reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, there are not many developers who have requested tests for the Vision Pro laboratories in Cupertino, and they are less than what Apple probably expected. One of the problems is that in the US, Apple offers these laboratories exclusively in Cupertino, forcing developers who want to preview their apps to go to Apple’s headquarters in California.
Any developer can apply to visit the laboratories in question but Apple does not reimburse travel and those residing on the east coast of the United States have to bear travel expenses which, for now, they prefer to do without; in any case, it is possible to request ad hoc kits and receive a preview of a Vision Pro at home by filling out a form in a dedicated section of the Apple website.
Mark Gurman;
Hearing so far that the Vision Pro developer labs (to test apps on actual hardware) have been under-filled with small amounts of developers. Some developers emphasizing that the company isn’t offering any east coast sessions, with Cupertino the only option for the entire US.
In addition to the laboratories and the possibility of requesting a kit at home, Apple also makes a simulator available, and the latter is currently sufficient for those who are creating apps for the viewer which in any case we will not see before next year (in best case scenario in January, but more likely a few months later).
At the beginning of 2024 it will be bought only in the USA and by appointment only, there will be only 1-2 units per store.
