Apple users are rushing to replace their iPhones. How long could you be without your iPhone? A new survey confirms what we all knew: Apple users tend to switch iPhones more often than iPads and Macs.
Apple, if incident detection fails, don’t hang up
All three devices are essential to users, so much so that most make quick repairs or replacements if needed. People still tend to fix or replace their iPhones faster than iPads or Macs.
Over 80% of CIRP respondents said they would replace a lost, stolen or damaged iPhone immediately or within days. Only 6% of people would wait for a working iPhone for more than a week.
But the iPad and Mac aren’t too far behind. For these categories of devices, approximately 60% of owners said they would get it fixed or replaced the same day or within a few days.
The survey also found that Mac users need their computers a little more than iPad owners need their tablets. For example, about 90% of Mac users would replace a lost, stolen or broken computer within a week, but only 80% of iPad owners would do it in the same amount of time.
Only a small minority of iPhone, iPad and Mac users said they won’t replace a lost, stolen or damaged device, indicating that all three products have become indispensable to Apple users. For example, just 1% of iPhone users said they would not require a device replacement.
And you, for how many days could you do without your iPhone?
