Apple will change the screens in the iPad Pro to OLED in 2024. The 12.9-inch and 11-inch iPad Pros introduced yesterday received only minor updates. The case remains the same, the displays are exactly the same. The main innovations are the system-on-chip M2 instead of M1 and the iPad Pro inscription on the back cover.
How to enable Hotspot mode and share Internet (Wi-Fi) from iPhone or iPad?
Many users were disappointed that Apple did not make changes to the displays. The disappointment was especially strong for the 11-inch model, which, as it was with a regular IPS screen, remained the same. At the same time, the large model has a cool miniLED screen.
Apparently, the display update will have to wait until the next generation of iPad Pro. At the same time, new tablets will switch from miniLED to OLED displays. This is reported by an insider, founder and CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants Ross Young.
According to Mr. Yang, the transition will happen as early as 2024. Taking into account the fact that the life cycle of firmware is one and a half years (the previous generation on the M1 was introduced in the spring of 2021, the new generation in the fall of 2022), it is quite easy to assume that this will happen on the next generation, that is, the seventh for 12 .9-inch version and a fifth for the 11-inch version. Yes, according to Ross Young, the changes will affect both models.
OLED displays are brighter, more contrasty and energy efficient than LED and miniLED displays.
If Apple continues to use the one and a half year life cycle, then the new iPad Pro will be introduced in the spring of 2024.
