Apple is now replacing the battery and not the entire iPad mini 6. Apple is rolling out a new sixth generation iPad mini policy that will allow customers to replace batteries without receiving a replacement device.
How to use Apple Watch Ultra’s optimized charge limit feature?
Currently, if an iPad customer wants to have their battery replaced at Apple Stores or authorized service providers and repair centers, they will receive a replacement device in exchange instead of getting the battery change in their original iPad. Starting today, iPad mini 6 customers, if eligible, will be able to replace only the battery without having to receive a replacement unit.
The new policy applies only to the sixth generation iPad mini, but other iPads may follow in the coming weeks or months. Depending on individual circumstances, the new policy may put some customers at a disadvantage. Previously, customers got a replacement device for battery repairs, so they could remedy any damage to the glass p chassis, allowing them to have a half-new iPad with no cracks or scratches.
The new policy, on the other hand, means that iPad mini 6 owners will only have the battery replaced, leaving any other minor defects or damage to their device. The new policy, as of now, is only implemented at worldwide repair centers and not at Apple Stores or authorized service providers.
