Apple increases the trade-in value of iPhone, iPad, Mac and Watch. Apple once again increases trade-in values for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. This is the third increase in less than 5 months, considering the first in 2023 which took place in January. Here’s how much your iPhone is worth now if you return it for another one.
iPhones beat top-of-the-line Androids in repairability
Once again the move could be an opportunity to update your device to iPhone 14. Let’s start with the iPhone. Among the iPhone models that acquire the most value is the 13 Pro Max. If at the beginning of January 2023 it was worth 650 euros, it is now worth 735. The iPhone 13 Pro has also gained value: from 590 in the previous months, to 635 today.
While mini iPhone models have been devalued in many parts of the world, this is not the case in Italy, where even the smallest of iPhones has seen its trade-in value increase. If previously it was worth up to 380 euros, now Apple Velo pays 405 euros. Below is the trade-in value updated as of May 4, 2023.
This means that those who decide to trade in their device to buy a new one going through Apple will receive more money than a few weeks ago, precisely because the company has just changed the value, at least for most of the newer iPhones.
On the other hand, older devices, such as the iPhone 7 series, maintain the values at the beginning of the year. Oddly enough, the iPhone 8 Plus loses value, which goes from 115 euros to 105.
Apple has also revised the trade-in value of the iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, this time fortunately increasing. With the new price list, the iPad Pro in exchange is worth up to €555, the iPad Air up to €355, the iPad up to €215 and the iPad mini up to €285.
As for Macs, bringing MacBook Pros in exchange you can get up to €850, MacBook Airs up to €495, MacBooks up to €120, and finally iMac Pros up to €620. Apple Watch Series 7 in trade-in is valued up to €180, Series 6 up to €120, Series 5 up to €85 and Apple Watch SE up to €70.
We remind you that it is possible to carry out the exchange not only in the shop, but also online. Once you find out the value of your device from this page, you will receive a trade-in confirmation email from Apple, with instructions on how to back up your personal data and prepare your device.
In the email, Apple will also explain how to ship the used device traded in, using the kit that will be sent by the company. After Apple has received the smartphone and checked its status, the user will receive a credit for a new purchase.
The alternatives: third-party trade-in services
We remind you that the value of Apple’s used in exchange has always been lower, even by a lot, than when it is possible to obtain by selling one’s Apple devices to private individuals.
Alternatively, for those who do not want to face the problems and possible complications of a private sale, it is possible to contact companies specializing in reconditioned devices such as TrenDevice [sponsor]. In addition to better evaluations for your used equipment, procedures and guarantees, TrenDevice ensures maximum protection and peace of mind for the user at every stage.
