Apple has released tvOS 17 with new features for FaceTime and video conferencing

Apple has released tvOS 17 with new features for FaceTime and video conferencing. Apple has released the update to tvOS 17, an update that makes Apple TV 4K even more interactive.

Demand for the iPhone 15 Pro Max is robust

With tvOS 17 it is possible to use FaceTime on Apple TV 4K, allowing you to use the app in question on your TV for conversations with family and friends. tvOS 17 also introduces a new Control Center and a whole series of improvements that improve the iPhone experience.

With FaceTime on Apple TV, you can start calls directly from Apple TV, or start them from your iPhone or iPad and transfer them to Apple TV. FaceTime uses the feature known as Camera Continuity to connect wirelessly to the user’s iPhone or iPad, and the device’s microphone and camera to allow group interaction from the television.

The Auto Framing feature keeps people in the center of the frame even as they move, and new gesture-based reactions let you use your hands to generate on-screen effects, such as hearts or fireworks, adding a fun touch to every conversation.

With Split View for Apple TV, the user can watch movies or TV series together with other people during a SharePlay session, while still seeing the participants in the FaceTime call.

Controls on iPhone or iPad, allow you to transfer FaceTime call to these devices when needed. If you receive another FaceTime call or phone call during a session, a notification appears on your TV notifying you of the incoming call but without showing the person’s name, to protect privacy when using a common device.

Third-party updates of video conferencing apps like Cisco’s Webex and Zoom are expected; Developers can leverage the Continuity Camera API on Apple TV 4K to integrate the use of the iPhone or iPad’s microphone and camera into tvOS apps.

Apple Music Sing, a feature that allows users to sing along to their favorite songs with lyrics in real time, is also integrated with the Continuity Camera so singers can see themselves on the screen and add fun filters.

New control center

The new Apple TV Control Center makes it easier to access key settings and information throughout the Apple TV experience; this now displays information about the system status, including the time and active profile, and zooms in to show other useful details based on the activity you are carrying out.

tvOS 17 strengthens the integration between Apple TV and iPhone, adding the ability to locate the location of the Siri Remote. The user can open Apple TV Remote from Control Center on iPhone to locate the Siri Remote (2nd generation or later). As you get closer to the remote control, the circle displayed on the screen will become larger to suggest the direction to move.
