Apple has released the iOS 12.5.7 update for older iPhones. Apple has released the update to iPadOS / iOS 12.5.7, targeting older iPhones and iPads that cannot be updated to the latest versions of iOS and iPadOS.

Apple broadly explains that the iOS 12.5.7. “improves security and is recommended for all users”
The update in question can be installed by iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, first generation iPad Air, second generation iPad mini, and sixth generation iPod touch users.
As always, the update can be downloaded over-the-air (directly from the device) by selecting General and then “Software Update”.
Apple does not indicate other details but in the release notes for developers it highlights the solution of some important vulnerabilities and it is therefore good to update your device as soon as possible.
Among the devices that you can update are: iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPod touch 6, the first iPad Air, the iPad mini 2, and the iPad mini 3.
How do you download the update to iOS 12.5.7?
As always, you can install the update directly from your iPhone or iPad by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
After requesting the update (tap on “Download and install”), it will be downloaded. The system prepares the update and, after a few minutes, it will be installed automatically.
Installing the update requires at least 50% battery or plugged into a power source.
If the update doesn’t appear immediately, don’t worry: it doesn’t appear to all users immediately and you may have to wait a little longer.
