This update was detailed in a recently revised support document by Apple.

The expanded capacity in Find My includes various Apple and third-party devices. For instance, AirTags and compatible third-party Find My network accessories listed on the Items tab are included in this count. In terms of Apple’s own products, AirPods Max is considered one item, the first-generation AirPods and AirPods Pro each count as two items, while the second-generation AirPods Pro counts as three items.
This enhancement was initially introduced with the release of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16. However, it wasn’t until now that Apple formally acknowledged this update, providing clarity to users.
The range of items that can be added to Find My is quite diverse. It encompasses AirTags, the latest MagSafe wallets, certain Beats headphones, and various third-party accessories that support Find My technology. With these items added to the app, users can effortlessly locate their belongings on a map, offering greater peace of mind and convenience in keeping track of personal items.
This move by Apple reflects their ongoing commitment to improving user experience, ensuring that the Find My app caters to the growing needs of customers in an increasingly connected world.
