Apple announces the Oceanic plus app for Apple Watch Ultra. Apple showed the Oceanic+ app for the first time during the September keynote for the presentation of the iPhone 14 and Apple Watch Ultra: now the Cupertino multinational announces that the app that transforms the Apple Watch Ultra smartwatch into a scuba diving computer recreation is available for download on the App Store.

The app was developed by Huish Outdoors in collaboration with Apple: the recreational adjective referring to diving refers to descents up to a maximum depth of 40 meters, in the USA 130 feet. The Cupertino giant declares that “The Oceanic+ app on Apple Watch Ultra and the companion app for iPhone provide all the key features of an advanced dive computer, solid dive planning and a complete post-dive experience»
Both Apple and developer Huish Outdoors point to the app’s extreme ease of use. “One of our first goals was to keep it intuitive. People who know how to use an Apple Watch already know how to use this dive computer, because it tells them things in a simple format they can understand,” said Mike Huish, CEO of Huish Outdoors.
The Oceanic+ app is available on the App Store and requires an Apple Watch Ultra with watchOS 9.1 or later paired with an iPhone 8 or later with iOS 16.1 or later.
By subscribing to the monthly subscription of 10.49 euros or annual subscription of 91.99 euros, users gain access to the most advanced features such as decompression monitoring, tissue loading, unlimited dive log capacity and more.
The Oceanic+ app also features complications that provide users with important information and tools at a glance, including no-fly time, surface time, quick access to dive planner, dive settings, current altitude, maximum altitude allowed, and a quick access button back in the app.
From dive planning, to the first dive, to the first return to land, users can track and compare all the details of their dives and share their experiences with other divers directly from the app.
