Apple A17 of iPhone 15 Pro, a leaker anticipates Apple. Like the current model, it will provide 6 CPU computing cores flanked by 6 GPU graphics cores, one more than the Apple A16. It will also increase the maximum operating frequency to 3.7GHz, versus the A16’s 3.46GHz which is made on the 4-nanometer process.

In the list of leaked specifications there is also the on-board DRAM memory, equal to 6GB with LPDDR technology, an acronym that indicates SDRAM memory with double data rate and low consumption. The quantity is identical to the current iPhone 14 Pro, although the increase to 8GB was previously foreseen, as in reality it had already happened last year in view of the iPhone 14 series.
On the possible RAM upgrade to 8GB in the iPhone 15 Pro, the leaker declares that it is unlikely but not impossible. Finally, as widely known and expected, it should be noted that the Apple A17 will be built with TSMC’s most advanced 3-nanometer manufacturing process.
On paper it is expected that the Apple A17 will offer a performance improvement of between 10-15%, while the reduction in energy consumption could reach up to 30%, again compared to the previous generation. The presence of an additional GPU core suggests a significant leap in graphics performance as well.
