WatchOS 10 apps will make better use of the Apple Watch Ultra display. Among the innovations that Apple should present at the developer conference (WWDC) on June 5, there is also the first preliminary version of the future watchOS 10.
The first MacBook Air will soon be ‘obsolete’
The future version of watchOS is expected to pay more attention to widgets and other UI elements.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports that among the peculiarities of watchOS 10 there are optimizations to make better use of the display of the larger Apple Watches and therefore of the Apple Watch Ultra.
“Apple is revamping all of the core Apple Watch apps for Apple Watch Ultra,” Gurman writes, speaking of “new designs to take advantage of the larger displays in Apple Watch Ultra and bigger watches.”
Not taking advantage of the slightly larger display is something users have complained about since the Ultra was introduced, and Apple itself hasn’t optimized many stock apps and watch faces to take full advantage of the increased pixel availability (nearly the 27% wider than Apple Watch SE). Among the peculiarities of Apple Watch Ultra, the display is larger, with a brightness up to 2000 nits: double that of any other Apple Watch. It reads very well even in bright sunlight and is always on, allowing you to keep an eye on important information. In addition, the exclusive Wayfinder face offers a compass that can guide the user in real time and the Night mode that improves visibility in low light.
