Apple has released tvOS 16.3.1 and the software update to HomePod 16.3.1. Apple has released updates to tvOS 16.3.1 and HomePod 16.3.1 software, updates that come two weeks after the release of tvOS 16.3 and HomePod 16.3 software.
In the HomePod 16.3.1 software release notes, Apple reports that the update “includes general performance and stability improvements.”
In reality, in recent days a big problem had arisen for those who inserted a new Homepod into a pre-existing homekit system: the Homepod 2 arrives with the 16.0 software on board and when it was updated to 16.3 it remained in an indeterminate state, forcing the user to re-install it with a different iCloud account or with other tricks not up to Apple ease of use; Homepod 16.3.1 should have fixed this issue.
The tvOS 16.3.1 release notes are not available at the time of writing but likely include general performance and stability improvements as well.
