Apple is planning new monitors with Apple Silicon chips. Apple has updated and refurbished versions of its external displays for Macs and iPads in the works.
Will alternative app stores on the iPhone be good for consumers?
This was reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in the latest issue of his newsletter “PowerOn”, explaining that in Cupertino they are working on multiple external displays, monitors in which the Apple Silicon chip is integrated, including a new variant of the Pro Display XDR.
Apple currently offers two external monitors in its price list: the 32″ Pro Display XDR and the 27″ Studio Display. The first is a 27″ monitor, boasts 5120×2880 pixel resolution, 600 nit brightness, TrueTone technology, 12MP video camera, three microphones, three USB ports and adjustable support; the second is a 32″ with a 6016×3384 pixel resolution, boasts a brightness of 1600 nits, True Tone technology, three USB-C ports, a Thunderbolt 3 port. The list prices of the two monitors are €1799 and €5599 respectively.
Mark Gurman believes the arrival of the new monitors to coincide with the future Mac Pros is probable, desktops that in Cupertino would have decided to “resize” compared to what was previously foreseen.
According to the editor of Bloomberg, all the new monitors would in any case integrate an Apple Silicon chip, an element which – in the same way as what happens with the Studio Display with the A13 Bionic – would allow various functions to be delegated to the display itself.
Rumors circulated in July that Apple plans to introduce a new 27-inch mini-LED monitor in Q1 2023.
