10th generation iPad, new design and presentation in September – RUMOR. Let’s find out the latest rumors about the 10th generation budget iPad. According to DigiTimes, the 10th generation iPad is currently in production and will be presented in September.

The report states that the 10th generation iPad will have major design changes, but without providing further information. Other rumors suggest that the device will feature a 10.5-inch display with thinner bezels, a USB-C port, and a flat case with a protrusion on the back for the rear camera.

The new budget iPad should continue to have the Home button with integrated Touch ID, while the 3.5mm headphone jack should disappear.

In addition to the design changes, the 10th generation iPad is expected to integrate the A14 Bionic chip and support 5G for Cellular models. According to DigiTimes, the launch is scheduled for September, with the presentation to coincide with that of the iPhone 14.

The only risk could lie in some power restrictions imposed by the Chinese government on some factories in the southwestern province of Sichuan, which could delay production of the iPad and force Apple to launch it in October. In fact, due to an intense heat wave, the Chinese government has decided to cut electricity to industries in 19 cities in the province until August 20, to give priority to residential electricity. For this reason, the factories have been ordered to suspend all production until at least that date.

IPads are mainly manufactured in Sichuan by suppliers Foxconn and Compal. At the moment, a six-day suspension shouldn’t cause major slowdowns in iPad production, but if the lockdown continues for another week or two then the risk of delays would increase dramatically.
