10 possible novelties that we will see on the iPhone 15 Pro. The launch of the iPhone 15 series is about six months away, but there are already many rumors about the devices. Here are the 10 innovations that will most likely be integrated on the iPhone 15 Pro.
Apple is working on a watch-switching strap for the Apple Watch
In this list we will see the 10 new features for iPhone 15 Pro models that should not be available on the standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus:
- A17 Chip: iPhone 15 Pro is expected to feature the next-generation A17 Bionic chip, manufactured based on TSMC’s 3nm process with improvements in performance and energy efficiency. The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are expected to have the A16 Bionic chip.
- Titanium frame: Like the Apple Watch Ultra, iPhone 15 Pro models are expected to have a titanium frame instead of stainless steel.
- Ultra-thin curved bezels: Similar to recent Apple Watch models, the iPhone 15 Pro will have ultra-thin curved bezels around the display.
- Faster USB-C port: iPhone 15 Pro models will feature a USB-C port with support for at least USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3, which would result in devices having significantly faster wired data transfer speeds than iPhones using lightning port. The USB-C port on standard models will remain limited to USB 2.0 speeds, just like Lightning.
- Wi-Fi 6E: Like the latest Macs and iPad Pros, the iPhone 15 Pro will support Wi-Fi 6E for faster wireless speeds.
- Increased RAM: iPhone 15 Pro models will come with 8GB of RAM, while standard models will likely continue to have 6GB of RAM. The extra RAM can allow apps like Safari to keep more content running in the background, preventing the app from having to reload content when reopened.
- Solid-state buttons: iPhone 15 Pros are expected to feature solid-state buttons. Instead of physically moving, the buttons will provide tactile feedback handled by two additional Taptic Engines inside the iPhone to simulate the sensation of movement, similar to the Home button on the iPhone 7 or the Force Touch trackpad on MacBooks.
- Mute button: iPhone 15 Pro will be equipped with a mute button to turn the ringer on and off. All existing iPhones have a switch dedicated to this function instead.
- Increased optical zoom for iPhone 15 Pro Max: The iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a periscope telephoto lens. This could allow the device to have at least 6x optical zoom, up from 3x on the iPhone 14 Pro models.
- Improved LiDAR scanner: iPhone 15 Pro models will have a more energy-efficient LiDAR scanner provided by Sony, which could improve 3D depth scan performance for AR apps and Night Mode photos
